first of all it's impossible to tell who would win, they are both from different games with different battle systems.

with both characters at their max level, with their best equipment and best materia/Junctions it would be a close fight but squall would be most likely to win. when he summons a GF he becomes immortal, the GF will recieve the damadge and not squall and he can have every GF from ff8 equiped without any negative affects. cloud can also have all of the summons but he has limited MP, so if squall could hold him off long enough by using his weaker summons to take the damadge he could use his best ones once cloud is out of MP. also cloud has to take damadge before he can use his limit break. and squall only needs to be on low hp. this means that if squall has something like auto-life, he will be revived as soon as cloud knocks him out and will then be at low hp allowing him to use a limit break. this would easily KO cloud and even if he has auto-revive equiped it would mean that when he is revived his limit bar would be empty.


and thats only at high levels.

at lower levels squall is far superior. his junctions allow him to get great stats whereas cloud can only use materia which has side affects and while it raises some of his stats it also lowers others, so basically squall could junction magic to HP, streanght etc and would be miles stronger than cloud with his materia. and since they wont have auto revive it is pretty obvious that squall would win.
