So we are strictly judging on each chatecterst fighting ability ,weapon,and style of fighting I take it. Does one have special moves more powerful than the other? Or is this impossible to judge given they were in 2 different FF series?

i pick squall simply because the gunblade is so much cooler than the buster sword...and he shows better leadership qualities in a fight...that's just putting aside the awesome leonheart limit and gf's...

WHAT!?!?!?!? your completely insane Clouds Omnislash along with a Knights of the Round would completely obliterate Squall..... But it is true that the Gun blade would be my perferd weapon o choice.

Sepheroth was taller too but he got his ass handed to him in the final playable battle of FFVII when you get to use omnislash (even if you havent aquired it) and tear his ass to shreads

No but if you remember cearly he threw the sun at them as one of his attacks you know all the planets and blah blah and the sun ends up crashing into the heros but yet cloud remained un scathed...

because cloud, being the wuss that he is, fled the attack at the last second and left his comrades behind to suffer, while he could return and take all the credit...thus making him an unworthy, selfish, coward...booya...
...funny...we went from squall vs cloud to cloud vs sephiroth...hmm...

well...umm...i can't...i'm guessing either one can obliterate the other...it's just whoever can get their limit off first...so i call it equal...but squall is still cooler just because of his attitude and weapon of choice...plus, his rival uses the same weapon, which calls for a sweeter duel between rivals...

Clouds rival sepheroth has a similar wepon as well didnt you notice how EXTREMELY large Sepheroths sword was? Its just thinner than clouds cuz Sepheroth couldnt halndle the big one Lol.... And How is Squall cooler because of his attitude?? Hes a confused kid who acts tuff but if you seem to recall some of his thoughts..... Squall is a little pussy *hehe* And as for what you said earlier about leadeship skills.. ughh sorry but bullsh!t. Every command he ever gave anyone was given to him first, or Xu made strategic plans for him, or he was told to address the people. Simply put he didnt know how to do JACK!!

Hey... Squall can own Cloud you know why?!??!? Cloud failed getting in to SOLIDER, the last boss of FFVIII had more forms and when you die you get sent of time and was more harder then effin Sephiroth who was a pussy. Cloud almost got his ass kicked in AC and Vincent saved him. Cloud doesn't have a cool mascot like Squall does with the Lion thing! If they only used pure skill with out GF or Summon, Squall would own... you know why??!?!?! One slash from the Lionheart could probably break Cloud's sword!!!

Hey kid CLOUD IS A CLONE OF SEPHEROTH!!! Not some dead guy... He just lived out Zacks life thinking it was his own. He was the best thing to ever happen to Zack. And as for the weapon his INITIAL weapon the Buster Sword would be cut in half by LionHeart no doubt about it BUT! Could's Ultima Weapon would slice through both LionHeart and Squall. Could didnt need a cool mascott because he had Tifa as his arm trophy, Its not that sepheroth is a pussy its that cloud is too damn hardcore for sepheroth and who cares about how many forms the final boss has that is irrelevant, and you talk about the movie where he ALMOST got beat and saved dont forget that Squall in the beginning of the game got his ass handed to him by Seifer and got saved by Quistis If it wasnt for that there wouldnt even be a FFVIII or Squall, Cloud flunking out of SOLDIER makes no sence to me because when Zack went up against sepheroth he was murderd instantly but when Cloud got to him AND got a blade through his stomach he STILL picked up Sepheroth and threw his ass aside like it was nothing. Cloud would serve Squall his ass on a platter if they ever had the chance to go at it!!!

On Squall's first mission as a SeeD, he was chosen as leader, and from then on out, he made the calls...yeah, he was forced with certain choices...all leaders have that problem to deal with, but they were his choices none the less, and he chose them, and with those choices he lived through it all...and cloud is only the fighter he is because he was a clone of sephiroth...the without sephiroth and the lifestream, he wouldn't be so badass...and you can't say anything about seifer beating squall down because squall was quick to counter attack and hold his own, exactly like cloud did in ffviiac with sephiroth...so that's irrelavent...

Squall did not hold his own... HE ENDED UP IN THE MEDICAL FACILITY UNCONCIOUS!!! While Seifer was out running about with his possey. and NO after his first mission in SeeD he did not make all the decisions... Xu was still helping him if you dont recall up on the bridge all the hints she gives you throughout the game also Quistis tells him a few things as well. The doctor was the one that told him to give a speech to the kids in Blamb garden when they were about to face Galbadia Garden. Sure he made a few choices on his own actually i will say the majority were his decisions but he didnt even know what he was doing and he said so himself. He had no clue if he was chosing the correct thing to do or not he just got LUCKY!
