so, your talking about the Neo Geo Arcade roms, like Metal slug?
http://www.emuparadise.com is a good site, though only one rom at a time. Kawaks is the best emulator for Neo Geo. btw dont foroget to never rename the zip file of any arcade rom, neither un zip it, the way you get it is the way you should play it |

problem is Im not talking about the arcade roms.. those are pretty east to find. I'm talking about the home-based console that played the same games... I may justgo MAME and use the arcade ver ROMS on my PC if I cant find neo geo cd roms.
I haev a great emulator for my dreamcast, but it will only play discs, not roms, so im screwed royally. cant even find'em with edonkey! BTW, if u didnt know, neo geo cd was a home console that played CDs released in the 1980's (they still make games 4 it too! it plays the same games as the arcade machines, but IS different)... it was released because the original Neo Geo cartridge system had NO ram, it was all in the cartridges.... making the cheapest games available $300.00 (no joke, it was WAY more than the console) the US version had a 1x cdrom drive and the japanese had 2x (painfully slow) but it was the best, most advanced console for years... also it reduced the price by $250.00 per game (making them go for $50.00) till he days of PS1 and SNES (actually, it might be better than SNES) now its pretty obsolete, but they still make games for it (yes, In the US too) just like they still pump out arcade games. well, Im gonna try MAME or that emu you mentioned and go play some on my PC instead... its just not worth the trouble. hey, dont feel bad... few actually knew there was a console. I dont think it had huge maketing support due to its counterpart's games being too expensive. and all of that IS true, BTW. google "Neo Geo CD" and you'll find much more on it. edit: its emuparadise.org, not .com Last edited by spiroth10 : 07-22-2004 at 07:04 PM. |
