PSP Firmware Broken - Emulation for All
So if you?fve note been following the whole homebrew and pirated game drama going on with the PSP, we last left off with Sony making everyone upgrade to firmware 1.50, 1.51, and 1.52 in order to prevent from bootstrapping games off the MemoryStick slot. Supposedly Sony had the problem licked, but it looks like once again we shouldn?ft underestimate the mad scientist powers of legions of hardware hackers the world over?a group called PsP-Dev have apparently confirmed successful a homebrew bootstrap on 1.50 (will not work on 1.51 or 1.52). What?fs that mean for the indie developer/emulation/warez communities? Well, pretty much the same as before?use your hardware the way you want it. For SNES emulation, that is. Obviously.
Below are links to the download for the swap trick PSP-Dev has done, and links for emulators for the PSP. Links: PSP-Dev Mirrors Emulators

I'm not sure if its the exact reson but I'm sure it had alot to do with it, you can even download and burn full dreamcast games and emulate stuff up to the snes so you it hit it hard in softwear sales and I'm sure if they can emulate on the PSP it shouldnt be long till they find a way to get it to emulate its own games.

Well, the reason teh Dreamcast died is because it came out in 1999 maybe even 98, by the time it died sometime in 2002, it had lived a full life in home systems, the homebrew/emulation scene for the DC started sometime in end 2000, when people figured out how to crack the DC.
And you can do this with a XBOX aswell as a GBA on the Flash cards, it just looks to be easiest with the PSP. On the Xbox you needed to chip it, on the GBA/DS you need a flash cart, the PSP is just a swap trick with memory cards, which appears to be very easy... I personally don't have a PSP, but read a bit up on this... Be sure to keep an eye on homebrew aswell, apps, games, etc... There are usually some interesting ports there... Homrebrew DC stuff were divx, ability to port old PC games to it, etc... So, more to come soon ^_^

I think thats more or less the reson the dreamcast bit it and so might the PSP, because it is so easy to do it with them. With the dreamcast all you needed to do was download burn and play and now with the PSP its basically the same the reson the Xbox, GBA, and other things dont feel the full effect it because you have to buy extras and not every one is going to buy it or even know about it, I have a xbox and a GBA but never emulated on it because I didnt want to buy the chips/flash carts. But sure enough every one with a PSP who knows about emulation is going to be doing this because all you need it the memory sticks that you acually need for the PSP.
