FF8 Squall vs FF7 Cloud

I don't know.... If they could use summon, Cloud won't win... Cuz I single summon of KNIGHT OF THE ROUND could kill Squall with 60000 plus(I guess, tt is what I remember) damage and if Squall summon a GF it would take a damn lot of time... But then again if Squall summon first, his GF will die not him... Either way, Squall will still lose. But if sword fight, Squall have better weapons, GUNBLADE. Limit Break, I sill think Omnislash will be stronger... Magic, Squall can't draw magic from Cloud But squall could still had won... And fist fight? Oh I guess Cloud will be better... Either way, I think speed is most important.

since they both have a max hp of about 9999 it would all be about who hit first although squall could use initiative(attacks first) cloud could use final attack phoenix all masterd!!!

then cloud couldn't die unbtill he ran out of mp but if he did mp->hp swith iot would take a while!!! that way clud would win!

cloud would win, hands down. With his bid ass sword and omni slash..... he'll add more scars to squall's face. Squall couldn't even handle Seifer w/o getting scarred.

first of all it's impossible to tell who would win, they are both from different games with different battle systems.

with both characters at their max level, with their best equipment and best materia/Junctions it would be a close fight but squall would be most likely to win. when he summons a GF he becomes immortal, the GF will recieve the damadge and not squall and he can have every GF from ff8 equiped without any negative affects. cloud can also have all of the summons but he has limited MP, so if squall could hold him off long enough by using his weaker summons to take the damadge he could use his best ones once cloud is out of MP. also cloud has to take damadge before he can use his limit break. and squall only needs to be on low hp. this means that if squall has something like auto-life, he will be revived as soon as cloud knocks him out and will then be at low hp allowing him to use a limit break. this would easily KO cloud and even if he has auto-revive equiped it would mean that when he is revived his limit bar would be empty.


and thats only at high levels.

at lower levels squall is far superior. his junctions allow him to get great stats whereas cloud can only use materia which has side affects and while it raises some of his stats it also lowers others, so basically squall could junction magic to HP, streanght etc and would be miles stronger than cloud with his materia. and since they wont have auto revive it is pretty obvious that squall would win.

That's when comparing them within the games, so I stand corrected. Ofcourse, squall would win because FFXIII is a more advanced game that FFXII with all the game fixes and different new features they have, it would really be unfair for cloud. But if they go all out, no hold-bars, no rules, no power, GFs, summons, materias, spells, just the 2 of em with their weapons in a ring like real people, then who'd win.

I'm can't say i like squall that much, but Cloud cannot possibly win because in ff8, there are items that make the characters invincible, and junctioning 100 ultimas and apocalypses is crazy. Also, lionheart is better than knights of the round, and ff8 characters can do five digit number damage (boost eden at lvl 100, and you could do over 50000 damage no matter what).
So, since i too think cloud is cooler, i shall make this worth while. Squall uses kamikaze (By accident) dealing 60000 damage to cloud, but in turn killing himself. end of story

They both are one of my favorite heros from any game, and i hate fighting over which one is better but id have to say Squall would win, its just a run for eachothers money and if they met I doubt they would be enemies in the first place, but still Squall wins either way, simply because I have to choose between them and I like him slightly better. Compliments to Raziel on his pic of Kuja, Its not on the subject but Kuja rules all he is my fav chara from any game that final Fantasy has ever made by far. Back to squall and cloud i definitely agree with what raziel is stating you cant compare how strong they are when they arent from the same game or even fight the same way, because fighting styles from different games lead to advantages from the next, in which squall would win, but thats beside the point that they most likely wouldnt be enemies and dont have reason to fight eachother.

To start off, let's about the topic at hand; Squall vs. Cloud. Squall would dominate Cloud for tons of reasons. First of all, squall's Lion Heart does 20 hits continuously add that to the initial limit break followed by the bonuses within the limit breaks. let's say he does 5000 damage per hit which is as if he hadn't junctioned at all. Adding 20 continuous hits, that's already 100,000 damage if you were to include the initial and bonuses it would be 5 more hits which would be 25,000 eqaulizing 125,000 damage in one turn. Heh, it would kill cloud ten times before he hits the ground. That's without the junctions, let's say he does junction with ultima as his STR and apocolypse as his HP. Squall would do an average of 8745 damage per hit, now let's multiply that with 25 equalizing 218,625 damage and thats on average, he does up to 9999 sometimes so there's a possibility that the damage can be even greater. In addition, squall can use trial hero, hero, or war hero to become invincible so that he can't be hit, I also haven't mentioned the battle tatics in conjunction with the abilities that the GF's have devour, autohaste, instant start ability, THE END(instant kill 100%),autoheal,KAMAZE (could do up to 54308 damage), ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++. Not to mention the other junction functionalities such as sleep, zombie, poison and all those other other other stuff.

Fist fights..? :evillaugh Zell would beat the living crap out of any of those characters in Final Fantasy VII with his unique limit breaks and his damage on an adverage of 9102 damage, he'll beat the living crap out of all those characters from Final Fantasy VII with his Kung-fu, Karate, Shaolin Boxing, Drunken Boxing styles.

The junction method used in Final Fantasy VIII can be advanced to a very high point, nontheless, Final Fantasy VII's fighting method can also utilize to high extends as well. However, comparing it to Final Fantasy VIII's battle methods to Final Fantasy VII's battle method is just like a trying to penetrate through a 4 feet brick wall by throwing eggs at it versus jumping over it. Final Fantasy VIII's battle tatics are advanced for a reason, if it is to sophisticated for some of you people, then I suggest you go back playing good old pac man instead.

I'd also like to clearify Cloud's actual characteristics, first of all cloud is not a well developped character, notice in Final Fantasy VII he doesn't really have a a straight-forward personality. Cloud chooses to do one thing and later on, he does something totally different. He said he didn't want to save the world....what emotion outbreak did he undergo to change his thoughts...? Because it seemed to me that he was very defiant when it came to money versus saving the world. If you call squall a wussy, at least he's more human that the little midget that can't even reach his sword(cloud) or if calling him a midget isn't enough, how about calling him a maggot?

In addtion to that, Squall, I believed had two girls liking him too; one, Rinoa, which originally liked someone else and two, Quistis, which liked Squall, but never said it aloud(which don't look like cylinder's with breasts that they can't seem to handle without falling over).

Who cares? People who make threads like this tend to get people riled up and say hurtful things. They are both kickass in their own right and in their own game. Leave it be. But if you want to talk realistically, Cloud would win.
Why? Simple. Because Squall is DEAD. Cloud lives happily ever after, and Squall is a rotting corpse in some other dimension. Squall would have to forfeit due to lack of a pulse.
