(Snes) Seiken Densetsu 3 (2.58MB)

"One of Square's best games..."

I found this game while I was sitting around, doing nothing. I started playing it, and it was just so addictive! Ever since, it's been up with my favorites, Final Fantasies 4 and 6, and Chrono Trigger. Why do I think this game is so great? That's what I'm getting to.

Storyline-9/10

This game had a very low-class storyline, compared to the Final Fantasies and Chrono Trigger. Storyline is half of an RPG, but this storyline wasn't that awful, it just was a bit above average. All the characters have background stories, and there's 6 of them. Even the badguys have backgrounds, although that's not saying much for a Square game.

Music-10/10

The music is just awesome. It totally pulls you into the game. Half of it just makes me want to dance, and I hate dancing. The only bad song is Three of Darkside (Lots of drums, plays later in the game, whenever you meet your end bosses). Even that's okay when the melody plays.

Graphics-10/10

The graphics are really realistic. You can see individual blades of grass that blow in the wind. There's shading, even in holes and pits. The graphics are really cool.

Gameplay-10/10

The characters are easy to control, and even without a guide or training center, the controls are easy to figure out. The only thing I ever have trouble with is changing which character ring is open (Which character is using items, magic, etc.).

Replay Value-10/10

If there was an eleven, I'd give this game an eleven for replay value. 3 characters allowed in a team with 6 character, and class changing with 4 different final classes will keep you on this game a long time. Not to mention the 3 different groups of end bosses, which change depending on your main character. There are even little cutscenes that happen depending on which characters you chose. The class change system is really cool, it's like a tree of classes, so you can't change to a different class once you've chosen one, you have to start the game over or open a saved game to change it, making the game even better, replay value-wise.

Overall-10/10

Do anything to get a translated copy of this game. ANYTHING. It's an excellent game that should keep you playing for a long time. The amount of training you need to do can sometimes be annoying, but it's well worth it, and fighting's fun. If you like to just run through games and finish them, this is not the game for you. It is long. Very long. Yet it is still very, very, very fun.

Had a great time playing this, give it a try if you haven't already.

Hey,

EXCELLENT upload. I was going to upload this one myself, but I haven't had a chance and am lazy. Since you did, you've saved me the bother. I might put a mirror up at some point, though.

Terrific game, though I still prefer Secret,

manaman

I had this rom about 4 years ago, but that computer eventually crashed and I lost all of that stuff. I've been searching for this game again for a long while. It's a very pleasant surprise to have stumbled upon your thread while frolicking through the meadow that is emulatorworld.com. Thank you Knight24. You are a valuable cog in the machine.
