FF7 problem

My uncle's Playstation (which I used to play my old games) stopped working, and he hasn't gotten a PS2. Since I can no longer play FF7 on it, I used alcohol 52 to create a backup on my computer. I downloaded ePSXe and followed the instructions on this site for the specific bios etc., but for some reason the game won't even load. (I load the image up on a virtual disk drive, and click load disk from ePSXe's options, I also pre-selected to load the virtual drive from the cdrom selection) All that shows up on the screen is a bunch of discolored lines. As a last ditch effort, I downloaded the files of the game from the links on this site, but I receive the same results. Is there anything I can do emulator-wise to continue playing ff7, or will I have to bite the bullet and get a PS/2?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Hey there,

Well, do you have the BIOS? My guess is that you don't. Track those down and you should be set. If you have any further troubles, there are some excellent tips right here.

Good luck,

manaman

Well, I found this guide on here that said which BIOS and such to download, and I downloaded them all and followed the guide step by step, word for word.

Alright, so I just checked the guide that you recommended, and I'm gonna go home and give all of that a try (I don't have internet at my home, so I'm figuring this stuff out at my school). If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what to do. Oh yeah, and thank you for the help.

UPDATE

Ok, so I couldn't try out the guide you showed me, but I DID learn that proxies don't download the actual file... (stupid blocked stuff at school), so I'm gonna go to our county library today and try again.

I got it working! Thank you so much for the help! If you wouldn't have shown me that guide, I would've never got it working. All it needed was the better video plug-in. Thanks again for your help!
