Help me FF8 HELP RAWR!

Well when I load ff8 nothing will load. I tryed a few different video drivers and a few different settings and nothing will make this load, no Square Enix sign or nothing.

Iv been using these drivers, P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17... and this PETE OPENGL v176with these configs I read text filt = 2 FPS limit= 63, Compatibility=4,1,0; + enable mask bit+ enable spec game fix for FF9 and they dont work.... and Pete's D3D Driver 1.76 and Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.76

If anyone else have any ideas or drives let me know that work 100% with correct settings also imma try restarting to see if that works if not thanks in advance for the help!!

Hey there,

Well, provided you have working BIOS and an accurate disc image of the game--or better yet, the game on hand--what you've described should work. Personally, I've found the most accurate emulation of this game to be through using the pSX emulator. You can find out more by checking out the guide FinalFreak made.

Good luck!

hmm I have pSX1.13 and ePSXe 160 and an older version, iv read if I need it patched but I really cant figure out how to do those I have a faq on them but havnt tryed them yet

Iv read both you need em and dont need em, I guess unless you get a protected version of the game I downloaded them game from the PSX masterlist and everything should be working, I have Legend of Legaia and FF7 both working but not ff8

O and ff7 disk 2 wont work for some reason its a black screen also

Have you checked out the tutorial in setting up ePSXe that is on this site? Have you downloaded the BIOS?

Hmm,

I admit I'm a bit baffled. Have you extracted the image from the archive correctly? All the parts, that is? And were they combined correctly. My best guess is that you need to try restarting your computer and trying basic settings or you need to find a better image of the game--perhaps another download is in order?

I'm sorry, I don't know what else to ask or say,

manaman
